About WestCon2011

The 2011 Big West Rotaract Conference, also known as WestCon2011, is being held at the UC Davis Conference Center on Saturday, October 15, 2011. WestCon2011 will be a full day of workshops, networking, fun fellowship games, service projects, and phenomenal guest speakers! 

Last year, WestCon2010 brought together over 200 participants from as far north as Washington state to as far south as San Diego. WestCon2011 will be a unique opportunity for Rotaractors all across the west coast to come together and meet other Rotaractors.

Our lunch keynote speaker is Past Rotary International President Clifford Dochterman. 

Conference tickets include lunch as well as full access to workshops and the House of Friendship!

The Tickets (you want them all!)

• Conference Pass: includes lunch as well as access to all workshops, the House of Friendship, as well as all ceremonies.
• Welcome Mixer (Friday at 8:30 PM): Come meet your fellow Rotaractors in the most glorious and LEGENDARY speed friending event on the west coast! Spaces are limited, so please RSVP!
• Gatsby's Vintage Ball (Saturday at 9:00 PM): The roaring twenties comes alive again with Gatsby's Vintage Ball! Ladies and gentlemen, a formal dress code will be enforced! The theme is roaring twenties, so come with your fedoras, gangster hats, suits, and flapper dresses. This will be one night to remember! Event begins at 9:00 PM and ends at 1:30 AM. You MUST have a ticket in order to attend. Limited quantities. More details to come.
• Wine Tasting with Good Company (Sunday at 1:30 PM): As a post-conference treat, we are bringing the tastes and aromas of Napa Valley to you in our wine tasting extravaganza without having to leave Davis! Come join your fellow Rotaractors for a private wine tasting event and some good laughs. YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD AND BRING VALID ID. This is an optional ticketed social which will be held in Davis at the Tucos Wine Bar & Cafe on G Street. Tickets required for entry. Limited quantities. More details to come.

Lunch Keynote: Clifford Dochterman

We are honored to have Past Rotary International President Clifford Dochterman as our keynote speaker during our lunch ceremony. All Conference Pass ticket holders have access to this ceremony and get to hear one of the world's most influential public speakers! 

House of Friendship:

This year we are hosting a House of Friendship hall. This portion of the conference will be dedicated to Rotary Clubs, Rotaract Clubs, Interact Clubs, non-profit organizations, and Rotary Vendors to come in and talk about their past projects, current projects, and promotions. Think of this as one giant hall where you can network and make new friends. The House of Friendship will be open as soon as lunch is over and will run until closing ceremony begins.

• House of Friendship Gold Exhibitor: This is for VENDORS AND EXHIBITORS for the House of Friendship ONLY! You *must* be a non-profit organization, Rotary Club, Rotaract Club, or Interact Club. This Gold Exhibitor pass grants you and one other person full access to the conference, its workshops, as well as two paid lunches at the Lunch Ceremony. This pass also includes the reservation of a table and two chairs for your organization.
• House of Friendship Standard Exhibitor: This is for VENDORS AND EXHIBITORS for the House of Friendship ONLY! You *must* be a non-profit organization, Rotary Club, Rotaract Club, or Interact Club. This Standard Exhibitor pass grants you access ONLY into the House of Friendship. Please note this does pass does NOT include lunch. A table and two chairs will be reserved for your organization with this pass.

Housing:

Housing is available throughout Davis through various hotels. The hotel of choice for the conference is the on-campus Hyatt Place. Room reservations for the Hyatt Place will be made through registration here. Simply purchase a conference ticket and provide your housing choice as Hyatt Place and we will contact you with more details. Room prices for the Hyatt Place are currently discounted to $159/night/room. Each room comes with a double king size bed and full amenities. You can list up to four occupants per room.

House a Rotaractor Program - Sponsored Housing:
We are also offering limited spaces in our House a Rotaractor program for those who are having financial difficulties. Please note that your participation in the House a Rotaractor program means that you will most likely be sleeping on a sofa or on the ground of an apartment of a Davis Rotaractor. There are very limited spaces available for this program. You can select this option after you register for a ticket. 

Transportation & Parking:

Parking is free Saturday and Sunday on-campus. (Do not park in disabled zones, red zones, yellow zones, or otherwise marked emergency parking.) If driving, you may park in the South Entry Parking Structure. For directions to the structure, please click here. If you plan on checking into the Hyatt Place, please park at the Hyatt Place's parking lot.

Public transportation is available in the city of Davis through Unitrans and Yolobus. Yolobus goes to and from the Sacramento International Airport and takes you straight to the Memorial Union of campus. Fares are $2 for regular buses and $3 for express buses. It is recommended you take the 43R Express Bus straight from Sacramento to UC Davis. Everyone flying in should plan on arriving Friday if possible. This way, our volunteers can assist you in case you get lost or need to be picked up.
